Christian Janss is an independent DP with a background in lighting. Beginning his career in Philadelphia and studying Cinematography at NYU, Christian cut his teeth on student films, indie shorts and features. Branching out into commercial work, he learned to shoot with speed and efficiency, while not compromising the final product. He recently graduated from the American Film Institute in the Cinematography concentration. Of the many skills and insights he gained at AFI, the most important is an understanding that the role of the Cinematographer is one of many on a production and should not interfere with the actors' or directors' craft, but instead elevate them through true collaboration.
